Off the Page

This is just something I have fallen in love with lately because it can be quite meaningful, you can give it to someone you care about, or it can be just plain pretty! And all over in a day! It is cheap (reject shop sells the canvas for $2.00) and you get to use those left over scrapbooking supplies, your stamps, your paints, fabric anything.

There are no rules I usually start off with a photo, postcard or poem printed off the computer as my centre piece or tho more often than not it doesn’t go in the centre then collect all the little bits and pieces you want to use. Start by doing your background I usually get the colours from the photo/postcard or just use your favourite colours. You can use paints or stamp pads whatever gives you the colour you desire. Either in blocks or shapes to use all the colours you want .If you have the fantastic colours of Adirondack pads or refills they can be blended with water to give a stunning effect!

Next arrange all your pictures or poem and all your little bits and pieces to exactly where you want them, stamp your stamps if you are using those, then glue your picture, then all your other bits. I usually go around the edge of the picture with paint on a sponge to give it that diffused look. Then if you have any texture paint get a patterned template* and with a palette knife swipe the texture paint across the template. Pull the template off and VIOLA! Just that added extra you need to finish off your Collage Canvas!!!!

* I use on off glue on the back of templates to stop them moving when you paint.
